Squirrels are one of the most common rodents to enter home. They seek to build a home inside your own and by doing so they can damage your structure by chewing through the siding or un-screened chimneys and vents. The picture to the left shows a squirrel we trapped in our one-way trap. Some house fires are caused from squirrels and other rodents chewing through wiring in the attic. Don't be among the statistic and don't let squirrels make your home theirs.
Flying Squirrels are nocturnal and usually heard at nighttime. Like rats/mice and grey squirrels, they also love to gnaw on wood and wiring in a home.
They are evident by chewed areas, noises at night, and possible tunnels and 'toilet' areas used. Flying squirrels are different than mice, rats, and grey squirrels in the way they use the bathroom. They typically will utilize the same spot. This attic only had 3 areas of evidence for fliers, but the areas were obvious. This picture highlights what is known a communal latrine made by flying squirrels. Numerous flying squirrels were harboring in this attic and had contaminated the insulation.
Armadillos can cause tremendous damage to your lawn, garden or foundation of your home. They dig multiple holes in search of food. The nine-banded armadillo can carry leprosy. The picture to the right shows an armadillo trap we used to remove an armadillo from the customers home. The mesh walls help guide the armadillo into the trap we placed.
We offer assistance in trapping and reducing the population of Norway rat, Roof rats, and mice. These rodents can carry fleas and also chew/destroy wiring and materials in order to build their nesting areas. We offer mass trapping, sealing of entry points (holes), and continued rodent baiting service to keep the population in control. Rodent control can be added as an 'add-on' service to your pest control or a service on its own.
Bats are helpful with reducing the mosquito population, however you do not want to have them in your home. Bats typically roost in the gable vents of your home, however can roost in soffits, chimneys, and shutters. Gable vents should always be screened from the exterior. When gable vents are screened only from the inside, bats use it to rest against, the guano falls and settles. Eventually, the screen degrades and bats are accessing your attic resulting in contaminated insulation and an expensive mess to clean up. Bat Guano is harmful when inhaled and can cause respiratory problems.
Bat Mating Season in Georgia is April 1st- August 1st and exclusions should not be conducted at this time unless there is a human health risk associated with the colony.
The National Wildlife Control Operators Association Bat Guidelines can be found here: https://georgiawildlife.com/sites/default/files/wrd/pdf/bats/NWCO_BatGuidelines_Georgia.pdf
Other pest control companies or home owners accidentally trap the animal in the home during an exclusion or after poison has been applied. If it is too late to exclude the animal and it has already died in your home, we offer dead animal removal and odor control.
Dead animals can smell up your home for days or weeks making it unbearable for you. We can remove the carcass and deodorize and sanitize your home for you.
